Lisa and Hayden

This munchkin might look a little familiar to you from a shoot I did about 2 months ago- Hayden had just turned a year old during that shoot and in no time at all she has already changed! I should know how fast kids grow up since my Daisy is about to be 2 years old in two weeks...God, where does the time go? She was just born! Wait...that was Amelia...ha!

Hayden came with an entourage of fun family members that were equally as friendly to my lens...her mom in particular! I love when a picture tells a story- When it seems to describe the way I feel about something, even when I'm not in the picture. The first picture below screams love to me, and makes me think of my growing little family and the way I feel about my little girls...protective, hopeful, and just plain proud.

Lisa- I hope you see what I see when I look through my lens! You're a stunningly beautiful woman, and you're doing a fine job if I do say so myself! Thank you for letting me follow you around like the paparazzi all day at the park! I had a great time with your/our family!

A few of the family members who tagged along:

The Hinojosa family

Ok...this very well may be the biggest sneak peek ever, but hey, I can't dwindle the the list down to only a handfull that I love!

Last weekend I attended a pig roast for a friend of mine from work- she said she had some family coming in from out of town and would like me to take family portraits while they are here. What she didn't tell me was that the entire family is BEAUTIFUL! Just look at all of the sisters, would ya? Stunning!

I'm told that there are a lot more of them, but they all couldn't be in attendance- I can honestly say that I felt completely at home with this family! Perhaps it's because the matriarch of the family's maiden name is Hooker, OR that they are part hispanic, WHATEVER! I'm telling you, the comfort level was high!

Thanks Hinojosa family for being so LOVELY to my lens :)

Raindrops and Riley

It was a beautiful sunny day, all day long, and then BAM. As soon as we pulled in to the park the sun went away and didn't really come back out for the rest of the afternoon. And then the clouds had the nerve to send raindrops my way! It seems my awesome luck has run out, and I have now experienced my first rained out session. But before the downpour, I managed to grab these and a few other cute ones too:

Riley is a funny little girl- Get ready little missy, we're going for a round 2 really soon!

Kelsey - 2 1/2 years old already!

It seems like just yesterday that Kelsey was born, but now that I think about it, I've had two kids since then so maybe her being 2 1/2 fits, ha!

I can't believe little miss Kelsey has so much hair! She easily has more than twice the amount of hair that Daisy has, and I'm pretty sure Amelia is following right in Daisy's footsteps! Kelsey, you were WONDERFUL!

The Kings...

If I go back in my mind about 16 years, I come to a time in my life where things were just plain good. I didn't know about all of the hardships that would come along in a year or two, and I had a lot of friends and was just starting to show an interest in BOYS. And if I really want to put my finger on the time in my life where I went from hanging out with my girlfriends to being head over heals in love with my first real boyfriend, you will find a friend of mine named Tasha stamped all over those memories. Oh yes...we were barely teenagers and were having a blast during a life changing summer. I doubt she even knows how much that time in my life means to me, as we grew up and went our seperate ways before having the chance to really talk about it. Well Tasha...you have no idea what you were a part of, and maybe someday I'll let you in on my secrets...but for now, we'll keep them quiet and focus on you and your BEAUTIFUL family!

Last weekend was full of perfect weather and smiling faces for me to capture with my little camera- Well Mr. and Mrs. King, I hope you share my vision and see the beauty in each and every one of you! This is why I love doing what I do:

Comfort food...

I'm sitting at Starbucks, BY MYSELF. You heard me right, BY MYSELF! I went to the Huron Applefest this past weekend and came across a friend of mine that I will be taking pictures of in a few days. I booked a sitter for tonight because we tried to meet up to take some product pictures for her friend's headband/bow line, but plans fell through and I had to decide whether or not I was going to go anywhere and make the most of having someone there to watch the kiddos. So I ended up here, updating my latest yummy version of photoshop, and browsing through my picture library, when I came across THIS:

These pictures say MANY, MANY things to me...for instance:

1. My husband is hilarious sometimes. You wouldn't know how funny he is by looking at him, as he always appears to be quiet and very grounded. However, if you get to know him, he surprises you left and right with his personality! These pictures were taken by my Andy, as proof that he cooks the "perfect grilled cheese". He talks about grilled cheese sandwiches ALL THE TIME. He frequently makes Daisy a grilled cheese for lunch, and claims that he's got "the touch". I have to admit, it is a fine example of a grilled cheese, lol.

2. I need to show poor Andy how to use the different lenses on my camera! He's using my favorite 50mm lens on the sandwich, which CLEARLY doesn't do the darn thing justice. 75% or so of the picture is blurry, which makes me wonder, "is this sandwich as perfect as it appears?"

3. My kitchenaid pots and pans are garbage. PURE GARBAGE. It's driving me crazy. It's not like I have been hard on them, heck, if you know me well you know the microwave is my best friend, lol! The pans get all banged up even when using plastic utensils, and the pots are discolored for some strange reason. The whole set is red, and so is my kitchen, which is fun...but the pots and pans getting more and more ruined by the minute sort of ruins it all! Thats it, I'm writing a letter, lol.

4. I need to change dishwashing detergents/tabs. They leave pretty obvious waterspots on the pans, and that sorta just grosses me out!

So there you have it...a small glimpse into my mind, my husbands sense of humor, and all of the reminders that my life is pretty funny sometimes- thanks to the help of my little camera and a few key players who make me laugh everyday! Ha!
