Kelsey - 2 1/2 years old already!

It seems like just yesterday that Kelsey was born, but now that I think about it, I've had two kids since then so maybe her being 2 1/2 fits, ha!

I can't believe little miss Kelsey has so much hair! She easily has more than twice the amount of hair that Daisy has, and I'm pretty sure Amelia is following right in Daisy's footsteps! Kelsey, you were WONDERFUL!

The Kings...

If I go back in my mind about 16 years, I come to a time in my life where things were just plain good. I didn't know about all of the hardships that would come along in a year or two, and I had a lot of friends and was just starting to show an interest in BOYS. And if I really want to put my finger on the time in my life where I went from hanging out with my girlfriends to being head over heals in love with my first real boyfriend, you will find a friend of mine named Tasha stamped all over those memories. Oh yes...we were barely teenagers and were having a blast during a life changing summer. I doubt she even knows how much that time in my life means to me, as we grew up and went our seperate ways before having the chance to really talk about it. Well Tasha...you have no idea what you were a part of, and maybe someday I'll let you in on my secrets...but for now, we'll keep them quiet and focus on you and your BEAUTIFUL family!

Last weekend was full of perfect weather and smiling faces for me to capture with my little camera- Well Mr. and Mrs. King, I hope you share my vision and see the beauty in each and every one of you! This is why I love doing what I do:

Comfort food...

I'm sitting at Starbucks, BY MYSELF. You heard me right, BY MYSELF! I went to the Huron Applefest this past weekend and came across a friend of mine that I will be taking pictures of in a few days. I booked a sitter for tonight because we tried to meet up to take some product pictures for her friend's headband/bow line, but plans fell through and I had to decide whether or not I was going to go anywhere and make the most of having someone there to watch the kiddos. So I ended up here, updating my latest yummy version of photoshop, and browsing through my picture library, when I came across THIS:

These pictures say MANY, MANY things to me...for instance:

1. My husband is hilarious sometimes. You wouldn't know how funny he is by looking at him, as he always appears to be quiet and very grounded. However, if you get to know him, he surprises you left and right with his personality! These pictures were taken by my Andy, as proof that he cooks the "perfect grilled cheese". He talks about grilled cheese sandwiches ALL THE TIME. He frequently makes Daisy a grilled cheese for lunch, and claims that he's got "the touch". I have to admit, it is a fine example of a grilled cheese, lol.

2. I need to show poor Andy how to use the different lenses on my camera! He's using my favorite 50mm lens on the sandwich, which CLEARLY doesn't do the darn thing justice. 75% or so of the picture is blurry, which makes me wonder, "is this sandwich as perfect as it appears?"

3. My kitchenaid pots and pans are garbage. PURE GARBAGE. It's driving me crazy. It's not like I have been hard on them, heck, if you know me well you know the microwave is my best friend, lol! The pans get all banged up even when using plastic utensils, and the pots are discolored for some strange reason. The whole set is red, and so is my kitchen, which is fun...but the pots and pans getting more and more ruined by the minute sort of ruins it all! Thats it, I'm writing a letter, lol.

4. I need to change dishwashing detergents/tabs. They leave pretty obvious waterspots on the pans, and that sorta just grosses me out!

So there you have it...a small glimpse into my mind, my husbands sense of humor, and all of the reminders that my life is pretty funny sometimes- thanks to the help of my little camera and a few key players who make me laugh everyday! Ha!

The orchard

It's rare that you will see me out and about without my camera...even if it's just a trip to the mall with my best friend or a quick stop to my mama's house for dinner. It's almost like my camera is another body part or something, so needless to say I can't live without it. This habit of mine paid off during a trip to Apple Charlies last weekend- My husband and I took our girls to see the sights and sample some "umma-yumma's" as Daisy calls them (aka cookies, lol). Since I was toting my itty bitty cam around, I decided to stuff Amelia in a bin full of pumpkins and click away until I got the shot I wanted. I know it sounds like something you shouldn't do, but it was worth it, as you can see :) I'm a proud mama, to say the least. As I was clicking away, a gentleman approached me with a notebook and pen, asking me if Amelia was my daughter. I told him yes and questioned why he was asking. Another woman walked up with a camera and informed me that they were from a local newspaper and and were wondering if they could use a picture that they had taken of me while I was taking pictures of Amelia with the pumpkins. She showed me the shot and I was ok with it, so Amelia and I will be in a little section of the Belleville View in a few days. Too funny. Well, here's a few shots I got of my little family from the orchard...as usual, I'm not in any of them since the camera is usually attached to my eyeball. We'll rely on the newspaper to prove that I was there! Hopefully I can get a copy either online or an actual hard copy...I will post it if I can! As cute as I think my kids are, my favorite from the day is of the cow with it's tongue up it's nose! This was taken a few seconds after the darn thing tried to gore Daisy through the fence! Never a dull moment...

Daisy and Amelia

Daisy is almost two and Amelia will be six months old tomorrow...I love every stage, but I just wish time would slow down a little...

My pupcake, Lain Mariposa

I have changed a lot over the last 8 years. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. I've lived here and there, gained and lost some friends, and created a family that I'm extremely proud of. But through all of the changes I've experienced, there's been one constant in my life that has never failed me, and that's my baby Lain. My tiny little American Eskimo that loves me no matter what. She's put up with living in a 400 square foot former chicken coop, a 4 day marathon of running because she got spooked, a new pops (Andy) and 2 new sisters that she's learning to love. I've put her through a lot over the last few years, and I hope she knows just how much I love her.

Lain had an hour long seizure last night, and if I'm honest with myself, I'll admit that they are coming more and more often and the signs of old age are showing...and I'm scared. What would I do without my baby Lain?

We all need to show our pups some love tonight, whethere they're a few weeks or a few years old...because they love us whether we deserve it or not!
